Here’s How.’ We discern that generative AI has the potential to revolutionise 44% of all working hours across industries. As per the study, this transformation spans sectors, with banking leading at an impressive 72%, followed closely by insurance and capital markets. Furthermore, their examination of 19,265 tasks underscores the pervasive influence of generative AI, revealing its ability to augment creativity and unlock novel solutions across job categories.

Creating New Job Roles in the AI Age

The traditional model of human endeavours emphasises proficiency in art, craft, and science as essential for excellence across all domains. For instance, a new financial service offering must exhibit innovation (art), utilise customer behaviour insights (science), and optimise its implementation (craft). Initially, technology enhanced efficiency in craft and supported scientific aspects. AI further advances this by economically and ubiquitously providing scientific and craft capabilities, enabling humans to focus on innovative artistry. This shift necessitates a move from an optimization mindset to one of excellence.

This transformation demands organisations to think innovatively, with a primary challenge being the alteration of entrenched mindsets. Success now relies on embracing ‘creative destruction’ over the ‘art of the possible.’ Wealth management illustrates this shift: previously, success hinged on attracting, training, and retaining skilled wealth managers, often through bonuses and tools. Today, successful firms integrate man-machine synergy to achieve superior results in wealth growth and customer satisfaction at reduced costs.
